Guelaguetza Festival In Mexico City

Women from the Cananea folkloric ballet and other folkloric dance groups from the Iztapalapa district in Mexico City are braiding the hair of one of their partners before a dance on the eve of the Guelaguetza Festival in the State of Oaxaca, which is the most important festival in the state. The Guelaguetza has its origins in pre-Hispanic times; it is worth mentioning that this festivity began with a ritual that was done to the ancient gods in a place called by the Zapotecs as Daninayaaloani or hill of beautiful view.
