Eight people were injured when a blast hit a vehicle of paramilitary troops Frontier Corps in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Tuesday afternoon, rescue teams and police said.
The vehicle was passing by a densely populated area in the provincial capital of Peshawar when it was attacked, a non-government rescue organization Edhi Foundation said.
Revealing initial investigation, police sources who cordoned off the site following the explosion told Xinhua that a suicide bomber blew himself up near the vehicle, injuring the troops and passersby.
However, the police did not officially confirm the nature of the attack yet.
The injured people were shifted to a nearby hospital, where two of them are in critical condition, the state-run Rescue 1122 said in a statement.
