JAXA's lunar lander to reach moon surface on Jan. 20, 2024
Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's Shinichiro Sakai, Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM) project manager, speaks during a press conference in Tokyo on Dec. 5, 2023, announcing that the lunar lander will conduct its moon landing on Jan. 20, 2024. An H2A rocket carrying the lander was launched on Sept. 7.
