Draft Broadcasting Law Ignores Indonesian Press Freedom

The journalists, photojournalists, and videojournalists who are members of the Indonesian Photojournalists Organization (PFI), the Indonesian Television Journalists Association (IJTI), the Indonesian Journalists Alliance (AJI), and the Legal Aid Institute (LBH) of Medan City are demonstrating in the Regional Representative Council (DPRD) of North Sumatra office in Medan, Indonesia, on May 21, 2024. Journalists are openly protesting strongly against the Draft Law on Broadcasting (RUU) to replace Law Number 32 of 2002 concerning Broadcasting, which curbs the freedom of the Indonesian press, especially investigative rights.
