RN’s Managing Director Gilles Pennelle Resigns

The director general of the Rassemblement national, Gilles Pennelle, is stepping down from his position following the relative failure of the Rassemblement National in the legislative elections. According to Le Monde, Gilles Pennelle gave his resignation on Monday July 8. Elected as an MEP on June 9, he had overseen the "Matignon plan", which was intended to enable the RN to secure an absolute majority in the National Assembly by fielding "presentable" candidates in the legislative elections.
