Iceland: State Of Emergency Declared Due To New Volcanic Eruption
A new volcano erupted on Thursday, August 22, outside the town of Grindavík in southwestern Iceland, prompting a state of emergency to be declared.
Roads were closed, and several areas, including the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa, were forced to evacuate due to plumes of toxic gas.
