TOKYO, Japan, April 10 Kyodo - Japanese film director Nagisa Oshima holds a press conference in Tokyo on Oct. 19, 1979, after the Tokyo District Court found him not guilty in his trial related to a book on his erotic art film "In the Realm of the Senses." Oshima, along with Kazui Takemura, president of San-Ichi Shobo Publishing Inc., was charged with distributing obscene materials contained in the book, including photographs of sexually explicit scenes from the 1976 film and its script.

        Court ruling favors preservation of landmark scenery

        TOKYO, Japan - Academy Award-winning animation movie director Hayao Miyazaki speaks to reporters on Oct. 1, 2009 after a Hiroshima District Court ruling in favor of residents in western Japan seeking to block a public works project they fear will spoil the scenery in a fishing district with old historical buildings and facilities.
