US: Claremont Fire Grows to 2,000 Acres in Boise Foothills, Idaho
A wildfire dubbed the Claremont Fire broke out near a residential street in the Boise Foothills on Monday afternoon, July 6, growing to an estimated 2,000 acres by evening as it spread north and northeast away from populated areas. Boise Fire Department officials said no structures were damaged and no injuries were reported, though hikers were ordered off nearby trails and the Bureau of Land Management closed public lands in the Foothills as air tankers and multiple agencies worked to contain the blaze.
