Best-selling Japanese author Keigo Higashino dies of cancer
Japanese mystery author Keigo Higashino holds a press conference in Tokyo on Jan. 17, 2006, after winning the prestigious Naoki Prize for "Yogisha X no Kenshin (The Devotion of Suspect X)." The best-selling author, whose works gained wide popularity in South Korea, China and other parts of Asia, died of bowel cancer on July 23, 2026, aged 68.
