NEC to launch PCs for digital satellite TV broadcasts

TOKYO, Japan - Photo shows what NEC Corp. says is Japan's first desktop personal computer capable of receiving digital satellite television broadcasts. NEC said Feb. 27 it will start shipping the VALUESTAR T on March 8. The model has a 15.3-inch wide digital liquid crystal display (LCD) that can automatically show selected TV programs. The model is equipped with Intel's Pentium III CPU and a 60-gigabyte hard disk drive.
