A fire broke out at the COEX convention center in Gangnam District, southern Seoul on Friday, April 25, prompting an evacuation of the building.

Medaki waterfall at Nunobiki Falls, taken sometime between the early and mid-Meiji Period. Although it is tinted differently, this is the same as photograph #2807, #4481 and #4682. The flow from Odaki to Medaki turns into the Shin Ikuta River and eventually pours into the sea. Nunobiki Falls

Odaki waterfall at Nunobiki Falls. This waterfall is introduced in the 1796 book Setsumeishozue (Places of Interest in Settsu): With a height of 73 meters, water cascades over five levels. Nunobiki Falls

The cylindrical stone structure on the right of the Medaki waterfall is a device to draw water from Nunobiki Dam located upstream. Since this facility was constructed in March 1899 to provide water to the city of Kobe, this photograph must have been taken at the end of the Meiji Period. Medaki waterfall of Nunobiki Falls, taken around the same time as photographs #2814 and #4240 (mid-Meiji Period). Today, more than a century later, it takes only a few minutes to reach this waterfall from Shin Kobe Station (Sanyo Shinkansen Line). The road on the left is now closed and the wooden bridge has been rebuilt in concrete. This photograph is assumed to have been taken in Mid-Meiji Period around the same time as the photograph #2827 and #4240, as the wooden bridge which surrounds the river and the teahouse were already built. As the caption at the lower right says '1208. This is Otaki Waterfall of Nunobiki. Many culturally enlightened people have visited here since ancient times as mentioned in the stories from Heian Period such as The Tale of Ise and The Tale of Prosperity. Nunobiki is located just a few hundred meters behind Shin Kobe Station of the Sanyo Shinkansen Line. It still has the atmosphere of a mystically deep mountain. This is Metaki Waterfall of Nunobiki. Nunobiki Waterfalls located in the upstream of Ikuta River consist of Otaki, Meotodaki, Tsuzumigadaki. Odaki of Nunobiki Falls in the mid-Meiji Period. Because the Odaki and Medaki waterfalls have the appearance of stretched cloth, people started to call them the waterfalls of Nunobiki (pulled cloth). The Nunobiki Amusement Park was built by a private company in 1872, and the area was subsequently developed for entertainment purposes. This was taken around the same time as photograph #2816 (Stone Stairs of Mt.
