Heart from brain-dead donor arrives in Osaka
Doctors arrive at Osaka airport by helicopter, carrying an
icebox containing a heart removed from a brain-dead donor in Kochi,
western Japan, on Feb. 28. The heart was later transplanted into a
patient at Osaka University Hospital, marking Japan's first heart
transplant since a law permitting such operations took effect in
October 1997.
