'Herminator' cruises at Alpine skiing World Cup meet
YAMANOUCHI, Japan - Austrian superstar Hermann Maier wins the men's giant slalom at an Alpine skiing World Cup meet at Shiga Kogen in Nagano Prefecture, central Japan, on Feb. 15. Maier notched his fourth giant slalom win of the season after crossing the finish line in two minutes, 43.49 seconds, way ahead of Marco Buechel of Liechtenstein, who clocked 2:45.23 for second place.
