TOKYO, Japan - Former Meiji University pitcher Yasuhiro Ichiba apologizes at a press conference in Tokyo on Oct. 28 for violating amateur draft eligibility rules by receiving money from pro baseball clubs. Ichiba admitted he received money under the table from the Yomiuri Giants, Hanshin Tigers and Yokohama BayStars, causing top officials of the Central League clubs to resign to take the blame for being engaged in the unethical scouting.
