Ex-treasure of LDP faction gets suspended term over donation
TOKYO, Japan - The Tokyo District Court on Dec. 3 sentences Toshiyuki Takigawa (file photo), a former treasurer of a powerful faction of the Liberal Democratic Party, to 10 months in prison, suspended for four years, for not reporting the authorities a 100 million yen donation from the Japan Dental Association. Takigawa was the treasurer of the the Heisei Study Group then led by former Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto. (Kyodo)
