OSAKA, Japan - Tamaki Mitsui, former chief of the Osaka High Public Prosecutors Office's public security department, enters the Osaka District Court on Feb. 1. NAGOYA, Japan - Law enforcement authorities arrested Yoshiharu Fujimura, chairman of the Fujichiku group, and six senior executives of the Nagoya-based Fujichiku meat wholesale group Nov. 8 on suspicion of fraudulently receiving state subsidies under the government's beef buyback program launched after the outbreak of mad cow disease in Japan in 2001. YOKOHAMA, Japan - Takashi Usami (in file photo), former chairman of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corp., was arrested May 6 along with six other former senior officials of the company and Mitsubishi Motors Corp. on suspicion of professional negligence resulting in death and injury, and of filing false reports on defective vehicle parts related to a fatal truck accident in Yokohama in 2002.
