Professor explains 12th-century tiles linked to China
Satoru Nakazono (L), professor of archaeology at the International University of Kagoshima in southwestern Japan, speaks about 12th-century tiles found in Fukuoka city during a press conference at the Kagoshima prefectural government office on July 9, 2015. The university says its research found that the tiles, produced with the same mold as those made in Ningbo, southern China, must have been transported some 1,000 kilometers from the continent in trade with the Song dynasty (Kyodo)
