TOKYO, Japan - Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko receive New Year's greetings from foreign ambassadors at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo on Monday. About 500 government officials including Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori, House of Representatives Speaker Tamisuke Watanuki and Supreme Court Chief Justice Shigeru Yamaguchi also greet the imperial couple and other imperial family members.
