Families of 1996 plane crash victims settle with airline
FUKUOKA, Japan - Akihiko Okuda (L), a relative of one of two victims of a 1996 Garuda Indonesia Airways plane crash, speaks at a press conference in Fukuoka on March 26 after six family members of the two -- Masakatsu Okuda and Masatoshi Yosida -- settled with the airline on condition Garuda pay them compensation. In a suit filed with the Fukuoka District Court in May 1998, they demanded a total of 249 million yen in compensation from the airline.
