(2) Japanese universities open offices in China to woo students
TOKYO, Japan - Takeshi Sasaki, president of the University of Tokyo, speaks at a press conference on Nov. 24 about the school's plan to open an office in Beijing in April 2005. Faced with a declining population of young people and increased competition at home, some of Japan's top universities are opening up offices in China in a bid to woo the country's young bright minds to Japan.
