Scandal-rocked Ichiba aims high, eyeing rookie honors

TOKYO, Japan - Yasuhiro Ichiba, a highly touted pitcher who signed with the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles, speaks at a press conference in Sendai on Dec. 7 after being officially introduced by the team. ''My goal is to win the Rookie of the Year award,'' said Ichiba, who had his reputation tainted by violating draft eligibility rules and receiving money from several pro baseball clubs.
