JP to make 65,000 nonregular employees into full-time workers

TOKYO, Japan - Japan Post Holdings Co. President Jiro Saito speaks about the company's plan to award regular-worker status to some 65,000 of 200,000 nonregular employees during a press conference in Tokyo on May 7, 2010. He said the company will introduce a new system on Aug. 1 to provide overtime pay to store managers and area market developers who have not been receiving it. The new system comes after the Tokyo District Court in January ruled that it was unreasonable for the fast food restaurant chain to treat store managers without special authority as administrators who receive no overtime pay.
