Organs removed brain-dead man
OKAYAMA, Japan - Medical staff carry a cooler box containing lungs removed from a brain-dead man with the sole consent of his family at Okayama University Hospital in Okayama on Aug. 10, 2010. The organs of the man were transplanted to five patients in the absence of a written declaration by him, marking the first case of such an organ donation since a legal revision approved them in July.
