Tanaka agrees to 7-year deal with Yankees

SENDAI, Japan - Rakuten Eagles ace Masahiro Tanaka bows to an empty Kobo Stadium, the home of the Japan Series champion Eagles in Sendai, northeastern Japan, after holding a press conference at the stadium on Jan. 23, 2014, on his signing of a seven-year contract with the New York Yankees. The deal, reportedly worth $155 million, will be the biggest ever for a posted Japanese player.
