Ex-Itochu chairman Sejima dies at 95
TOKYO, Japan - Ryuzo Sejima (file photo taken in 1997), an Imperial Headquarters staffer-turned-Itochu Corp. chairman, died of old age on Sept. 4 at his Tokyo home. He was 95. While Itochu chairman, Sejima played a major role in privatizing Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corp. and the Japan National Railways as a member of the government's commission on administrative reform. He was also known for his close ties with former Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone.
