The ministry said the most populous Arab country released 2.1 million tons of fodders between Oct. 16, 2022 and Jan. 19, 2023, which are worth more than 1 billion U.S. dollars. In recent months, the prices of eggs and poultry, which many low-income Egyptians rely on as a source of protein instead of costly red meat, have soared in local markets amid an increase in fodder prices and other production costs.
