Tauranga-based Alice Mason earned a record-equalling fourth victory in the women's race in 2:54:30, just nine months after giving birth to her baby. Earlier in the day, around 4,000 participants set out in a light drizzle to take on either the full marathon, half-marathon, 10km or 5.5km distances.
