US: Storms Sweep Through Indiana, Bringing Strong Winds, Heavy Rain and Large Hail
Powerful storms swept through the U.S. state of Indiana from Monday night into Tuesday morning, bringing strong winds, heavy rain and large hail. Winds near 60 mph downed trees in the northwestern cities of Portage and Valparaiso, where a 95-foot radio tower collapsed. South of Indianapolis, hail up to 1.25 inches in diameter was reported near Indiana University, while Monroe County Airport recorded a wind gust of 61 mph.
