Firms to pay damages in pollution suit
Plaintiffs in an air pollution suit carry a banner reading
'Blue Skies and Clean Air for Our Descendants' in front of the Kobe
District Court on Wednesday Feb. 17. Kansai Electric Power Co. and
eight companies listed in the suit agreed to pay patients and
families of deceased victims 2.42 billion yen in damages in a
court-brokered settlement later in the day.
