Mitsubishi Fuso revives double-decker bus

TOKYO, Japan - Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp. on April 2 launches a new double-decker bus three years after suspending its production of such buses. The new Aero King Highway Liner (photo), the only Japanese-developed double-decker bus, has six passenger seats on the lower deck and 30 on the upper deck. (Kyodo)

              TOKYO, Japan - Mitsubishi Motors Corp. said on Oct. 10 it will exhibit an electric car, ''i MiEV SPORT,'' (shown in this photo) at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. The event will be opened to the public from Oct. 27 to Nov. 11 and will feature about 540 passenger and commercial vehicles, as well as motorcycles, from 58 companies.                 TOKYO, Japan - Kentaro Haneda (file photo taken in May, 2005), a pianist and composer who appeared on various TV shows, died of hepatocellular carcinoma, a form of liver cancer, at a Tokyo hospital on June 3. He was 58. Haneda was a popular host of music show ''Untitled Concert'' on TV Asahi for seven years until this April when his health deteriorated.

The court found Mitsubishi Motors and the three men not guilty on charges related to falsifying defect reports on its truck wheel hubs, which resulted in a fatal accident in Yokohama in January 2002.                     TOKYO, Japan - Mitsubishi Electric Corp. said on Dec. 13 it has put on the market a new air conditioner (in handout photo) which has an infrared sensor that detects the presence of people and their location in a room. The air conditioner will automatically switch to an energy-saving operational mode if it does not detect a human presence in a room. By detecting the location of people, the air conditioner's fan can change direction and avoid blowing directly at them. (Kyodo)
