Child under 6 declared brain-dead for 1st time for organ transplant
TOYAMA, Japan - Journalists encircle a spokesman of Toyama University Hospital in Toyama city on the night of June 14, 2012, after the hospital declared a boy under age 6 brain-dead for the first time in Japan under the revised organ transplantation law. The child's organs are expected to be harvested for transplantation as a result of the family's consent.
