Demonstration In Support Of Gaza Held In Toulouse

Hundreds of people are demonstrating in Toulouse, France, on January 13, 2024, in support of Gazans, the Gaza Strip, and more generally for Palestine. The banner reads 'Stop the genocide in Gaza, Stop state racism'. Since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th, Israel has placed the Gaza Strip under a complete blockade: no water, no food, no electricity, no fuel, no medicines, and sometimes no communication with the outside world. South Africa is pleading in the International Justice Court against Israel for not preventing a genocide in Gaza. More than 80 countries are siding with South Africa in its case. The U.N. estimates that up to 2 million people in the Gaza Strip - or more than 85% of the population - have been forced to flee due to Israel's devastating bombing campaign. Despite Israel striking hospitals, UN shelters, UN schools, ambulances, and press buildings, the global North is supporting Israel while the global South is calling for an enduring ceasefire as soon as possible.
